Migration: The Story of a Refugee (Chamber Music &Talk)

Apr 28, 2017
5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

In the early 20th century, Grace Thompson Edminster suffered from tuberculosis and came to Albuquerque "chasing the cure." She helped found the UNM music department and in 1920 she took charge of forming the Albuquerque Civic Symphony. Nearly 100 years later, her musical legacy lives on in the music of The New Mexico Philharmonic.

Join us on Friday evening to celebrate that legacy and to hear the story of a contemporary refugee.

From 5:30 - 6:45 p.m., the community history exhibition, "Chasing the Cure to Albuquerque" gallery will be open for viewing.

At 7 p.m., New Mexico Philharmonic presents a chamber music program and a talk.
